Thanks Jose! I do plan to release the final version with DTS-HD sound, yes. There will be several different download options for the final edit, starting from a lower-res stereo MP4 file all the way up to a Bluray ISO with 5.1 DTS-HD encoding (for those that want the full experience)!
I'm anxious to see this! Have downloaded using uTorrent, and went to transfer to a flash drive so I can watch on my Blu-Ray player. I put a new 64g drive in and tried to send it there, but it says "cannot copy JRRTolkien's the Hobbit because the disk is full." But it has 64 gigs available! (I tried another new drive, same thing). I haven't had any trouble copying or sending to flash drives before. Can you suggest what the fix might be?

I'm about halfway through the piece and I'm really loving what I see so far. Your judicious cutting of many of the action sequences is a blessing and really helps the film feel like it is part of the Lord of the Rings saga. I really look forward to seeing your final version in the fall.A few suggestions from one editor to another.1. I would leave some form of the campfire sequence that introduces the heroic backstory of Thorin and Azog. It's critical not only for Azog to have any kind of a history, but also why Thorin is seen as such a leader of these dwarves. Without it, he's more the leader because he can bellow more than anyone else. While the entire sequence is way too long, there's too much good there to scrap it all. Plus, it starts to endear Bilbo to this harsh-talking dwarf.2. Please remove the shot of Gollum paddling his boat towards Bilbo. It's totally unnecessary and I hate it in the theatrical version. Let alone, it ruins the full Gollum reveal just moments later. It's far creepier for Gollum to disappear from his island and then already be right on top of Bilbo.3. While I can appreciate where you were coming from with the intermission, I feel that it's out of place here. Please consider doing a version without an intermission.PS - I can't believe the magic you worked with the Mirkwood sequence. It's works so much better with all the trims you made.
